Update on TruNews (Rick Wiles) Broadcast from 8/21/19

“Christian” Fake News

“For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing, (theories and reasoning and every proud and lofty thing), that exalts itself against the knowledge of God,…”

(II Cor 10:4-5a).

I know some of you are regular viewers and have a great respect for Rick Wiles and TruNews. There is no question TruNews has been a blessing to the church for years. However, because of their influence I must respond to the program released on Wednesday, Aug 21st. Much is at stake.

Just as our national leaders take an oath to defend America from all enemies foreign and domestic, likewise a true watchman will take a stand against anything that exalts itself against the truth regardless of the source.

As the battle for the soul of this nation is intensifying, we cannot allow unfounded attacks against the president to go unchallenged. This is especially true when the attacks come from those whose claim to represent Jesus Christ and who have a voice that reaches multitudes of believers.

I was stunned to hear Rick Wiles begin his program declaring that impeachment for the president could not come soon enough because of a retweet of something a radio host said about the president’s influence and likability in Israel. Things only got worse as the program continued as Rick began to accuse the president of being a blasphemer and of the spirit of antichrist. It was also suggested that anyone who doesn’t condemn the president is likewise of that same spirit.

However when you truly listen to the president’s comments from earlier that day, it’s easy to see how TruNews in their reporting grossly misinterpreted what was actually being said and the motives of the president’s heart.

Rick Wiles accused Christian leaders who are meeting with and speaking into the president’s life of failing to rebuke the president when needed. Yet later that day I became aware of how one of the ten leaders referred to did indeed send a message that morning to the White House to strongly caution the president about his communications.

During the program the accusation was made that some leaders believe the president is the reincarnation of Cyrus. This is utter nonsense. No one I know believes anything like that. Many believe the president has a similar anointing and calling as King Cyrus. For example I believe many today have a calling an anointing similar to King David in that their heart and calling is similar to his. These are rising up against the Goliaths of this hour boldly declaring, “For who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God” (I Sam 17:26)?

Towards the end of the program the president is seen glancing up to heaven referring to his being the chosen one. This in no way means the president believes he is some god to be worshipped, as suggested on the program, but that he believes and has accepted that God has chosen him for this hour in America. All of us are called and chosen to live in this specific hour of history. This is not evil but can be a sign of surrender and trust in the One who has chosen us.

Finally there is a video of a parade that took place on Feb 10, 2019 in Italy. You can find more information on this parade and why the president was displayed in this manner by googling Carnival di Viareggio which is a pagan celebration before lent. It’s a lot like Mardi Gras.

Common features include expressions of social satire, mockery of authority, abusive language, degrading acts and reversal of everyday rules and norms. If you do the research you will discover that other presidents and political figures, (Obama, Clinton, etc.) have also appeared in similar fashion in the parade in the past. You will also see a detailed description of why President Trump was featured in one of the floats.

The Trump float was modeled after a character in the table-top game War Hammer. The armor is modeled after the space marines. This represents the anniversary of the moon landing and the goal of today of reaching Mars which President Trump has mentioned accomplishing through the Space Force. The sword represents the weapon of the economy (tariffs) and conquering fake news through Twitter. It has nothing to do with what TruNews suggested. He is not being worshipped by any means! To use these video clips from last Feb is a misrepresentation of the facts in order to sway opinion. It is “Christian” Fake News!

So much more was said during the program that cannot be fully discussed in this short letter. However I wanted to reach out to you and encourage each of us to not take our hands off the plow in praying for President Trump. It is important now more than ever.

Should the president have been rebuked when he publically used God’s name in vain, yes. But instead of cursing him, judging his motives, putting words in his mouth and distorting the facts we must continue to intercede for him and our nation.

If you missed it please read the last update, ‘The Tale of Two Kings’ from 8/7/19. A king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord (Pro 21:1) and the hand of the Lord can be moved through repentance and the heartfelt, passionate, consistent intercession of the saints.

“Now, therefore," says the Lord, "Turn to Me with all your heart, with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning." So rend your heart, and not your garments; Return to the Lord your God, for He is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness; and He relents from doing harm. Who knows if He will turn and relent, and leave a blessing behind Him” (Joel 2:12-14).

Standing Together,

David White
