My friend and pastor Johnny Taylor of Dalton, GA recently sent me the following vision he had concerning the president. It further confirms what God has been showing us, but includes a specific challenge to America’s pastors and leaders who have been called for such a time as this. (Please share this with others as you have opportunity)
I want to share a vision I had last night. We were in our living room and the spirit of prayer fell so we got on our knees and began to pray. President Trump was standing outside in the dark and a big spotlight was shining on him like he had broken out of prison. He was being fired at and was taking all the shots and being hit by bullets being fired from the dark from the prison. Pastors and Christian leaders were standing behind him kind of pushing him out in front of them. They were praising him for standing up for them. Then the Lord spoke and said, “He is not supposed to be standing up for you. You are supposed to be standing with him. When you stand with him, persecution will come like it has come on him. When you stand with him, I will back you up. I will defend you. I will stand with you. If you don’t stand with him, they will kill him...”
When I read Johnny’s vision two thoughts came to me. First, how Deborah boasted in the Lord’s deliverance while at the same time acknowledged the vital role of Israel’s leaders to go out and lead. “When leaders lead in Israel …bless the Lord” (Judges 5:2). My question is, would deliverance and victory have come in Deborah’s day if the leaders she is referring to sat back and waited for someone else to rise up and lead?
Referring to his day, as is the case today, Jeremiah referred to those who, “like their bow they have bent their tongues for lies, they are not valiant for the truth on the earth” (Jer 9:3).
To counter these lies, Jeremiah was willing to speak the truth and be one who would be valiant for the truth on the earth. It would be costly, but he was willing to pay the price.
Because the church of Jesus Christ is the pillar and ground of the truth (see I Tim 3:15), its leaders are called to risk everything leading the way for others to stand up and speak the truth. If we don’t counter those who have bent their tongues for lies by speaking truth, multitudes of people will be deceived on our watch. To whom much is given much is required. But to those whom much is required much grace will be given to do what is required!
Along with the sovereignty of God comes the responsibility of man. We cannot blame God for what we fail to do. The Kingdom of God will come and His will most assuredly and eventually will be done, but God holds us responsible to the degree we surrender and actually do His will. Jesus came to do the will of His Father. He laid down His life and His will in surrender to His Father’s.
Second, although many like to quote from Esther how we are called into the kingdom for such a time as this, we forget what was said would happen if she failed to fulfill her call. Mordecai told her, “For if you remain completely silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise… but you and your father’s house will perish” (Esther 4:14).
Mordecai told Esther that if she refused to speak up she and her house would suffer the same fate that had been planned for her nation. Remember the words of Jesus when told His disciples, “Whoever seeks to save His life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it” (Lk 17:33).
While sadly some Christian leaders have joined the left in the ongoing assault against the president, others are choosing to remain completely silent at a time when the freedoms given to our nation are on the verge of being taken away.
As in the vision, we are not called to merely applaud while the president stands up for us and speaks up about what is really going on in the nation. We are called to stand with him, become valiant for the truth ourselves and if necessary take the shots coming from the enemies of freedom. Because the time will come when it will be revealed how these were also, as the Apostle Paul writes in Philippians, “enemies of the cross of Christ” (Phil 3:18). According to the vision, if we stand with the president when He is doing what is right, God will back us up, defend and stand with us.
“But the Lord stood with me and strengthened me… Also I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion. And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work and preserve me for His heavenly kingdom” (II Tim 4:17-18).
It has been said and I agree, that at the judgment seat of Christ we will not only be judged for what we said, but for what we did not say when we had the opportunity to say it. We cannot allow the fear of what others will think or do if we are not politically correct keep us completely silent at this time.
Remaining silent in this hour will be much more costly than our taking a little of the heat President Trump takes every day and almost every moment of every day. In America’s past many pulpits thundered truth confronting the evils which threatened to keep America from being great... Now it’s our turn!
· Please join me in praying these additional points along with those found at www.presidentialprayerwatch.com over this next season of time:
#1 – Pray pastors and Christian leaders will be bold in this hour, speak up and stand with the president when he is standing up for us and our nation. Pray our nation’s pastors, from their pulpits, will be more passionate about being biblically accurate than politically correct.
#2 – Pray as with Jannes and Jambres, (who were involved in sorcery/witchcraft, etc. [see II Tim 3:8-9]), and were hostile and resistant to Moses and the truth and who the Bible confirms were corrupt in their minds, that those like Jannes and Jambres in our day would progress no further. Pray their folly (evil of which they think they will not be caught) will become obvious to all.
#3 – Pray the wheels of justice will begin to roll and those who have committed crimes against our nation and the constitution will face justice during this period of time. Pray God’s justice, which will include the opportunity for repentance and forgiveness, will be released across the land that a nation and the souls in this nation will be saved.
Thanks for staying true to this calling!
An Invitation to Join in the Watch of the Lord
Capitol Hill Prayer Partners has asked the Presidential Prayer Watch to take a week to pray through the 3 night watches this Dec 11-18. This Watch of the Lord, which has involved numerous intercessory prayer ministries, has been going on night after night for many years.
We will take the torch at midnight on Tue Dec 11 (extending into Wednesday morning). We will then pass it on to another group, ‘Intercessors for America’ the following Tue Dec 18 just before midnight.
If you would like to join us praying through the night over that week please email your name, email address or cell #. We will send you the conference call # and pin prior to Dec 11 so you can call in at your chosen time (s).
All you have to do is email that info to firstname.lastname@example.org and let us know which 2-hour watch you are willing to be a part of. Feel free to take one or more of the times.
If you are not familiar, the 3 two-hour watches are the FIRST WATCH from midnight – 2 AM; SECOND WATCH from 2 AM – 4 AM; and the THIRD WATCH from 4 AM to 6 AM.
Our week begins Tuesday night, Dec 11 at midnight.
We will of course focus on everything surrounding our president at this critical time as well as other issues the Spirit brings up on the calls involving our nation. A host leader will be on the call to welcome each participant.
Thanks for being a part and helping us fill up that week. I believe this is timely.
God bless each of you for being a part of the Presidential Prayer Watch! Our prayers are affecting more than we can know!
