FRESH BREAD WHEN GOD PUSHES BACK

FRESH BREAD

The Kingdom Series - ‘When God Pushes Back’

By David White

“For I will contend with him who contends with you, and I will save your children. I will feed those who oppress you with their own flesh, and they shall be drunk with their own blood as with sweet wine. All flesh shall know that I, the Lord, am your Savior, and your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob” (Is 49:25b-26).

The Democrats, most of the media and the progressive left have picked a fight. They have picked a fight with God and the people who are called by His Name.

Hearing that statement may be hard to swallow for some, even more so to believe, but from a biblical perspective those who have been at war with the family, marriage, morality, truth, the constitution, freedom, etc. and now have jumped on the so-called impeachment train are without question ultimately at war with God.

On the night before the presidential election I had a dream where I was reading from Psalm 74 and another Psalm. The next morning, I quickly opened my bible to read what I had just read in the dream.

I would advise you to read the entire Psalm as it is a call for God, by His own hand, to arise and act in response to those who have risen up as enemies of God and His people. The Psalmist reminds God what He has done in the past with a plea for Him to do it again! If you look closely at what God did in the text you will agree it was not pretty. Nevertheless, it was all God. The One who has never changed.

What most jumped out to me from the Psalm were verses 10-23, especially verses 22-23 where he cries out, “Arise, O God, plead Your own cause; Remember how the foolish man reviles You daily. Do not forget the voice of Your enemies; The tumult of those who rise up against You increases continually” (Ps 74:22-23).

I have always believed the highest form of revelation, or the way we hear from God the most, is through reading and meditating on His Word. I trust God’s Word far above any dream or vision or any prophecy of man. Therefore what I believed I was hearing the Lord say on that specific day, the very day America elected President Trump, was to get ready, because the tumult (constant uproar, destruction, violent, disorderly turbulent uprising, hatred, evil plotting, constant lies, fake news, etc.) against this president would only increase throughout his presidency. God’s, and this case America’s enemies would never back down.

It seems my interpretation has been confirmed over and over to the point that now if something does not change the current course we are on, this nation could be plunged into what would be a devastating civil war. However, although a number of men I greatly respect have prophetically seen this coming, I believe there is another way, if we will take it.

Psalm 74 begins with this question: “O God, why have You cast us off forever? Why does Your anger smoke against the sheep of Your pasture” (Ps 74:1)?

If there is one marked difference between the saints in the Old Testament especially, and the modern western Christian mindset is that when something was horribly wrong in the land they, the saints of old, first turned to God. They didn’t point their fingers and blame their enemies. They wanted to know why God was allowing their enemies to triumph over them. Was it because they had disobeyed Him in some way. They looked upward rather than outward, at least initially, and it would be wise if we would do the same.

Remembering what the Apostle Paul told the Corinthians, “Now all these things happened to them as examples, and they were written for our instruction, upon whom the end of the ages have come” (I Cor 10:11), we should take serious the following passage also from the Psalms.

“Hear, O My people, and I will admonish you! O Israel (America), if you will listen to Me”! … “But My people would not heed My voice, and Israel would have none of Me. So I gave them over to their own stubborn heart, to walk in their own counsels.

Oh, that My people would listen to Me, that Israel would walk in My ways! I would soon subdue their enemies, and turn My hand against their adversaries” (Ps 81:8, 11-14).

Throughout the Old Testament we see a pattern. When God’s people obeyed Him, they would be delivered from their enemies. However when they disobeyed and walked in their own ways, defeat and in many cases captivity was inevitable.

So the first thing we must do to be delivered from our enemies in this hour is turn back and turn completely to God! This is not a cliché but the most important truth America, beginning with the church, must hear. The enemies of our nation who have become entrenched in the media, education, government and in many cases the church, (or what appears as the church) are too numerous and great to defeat them without some type of outward conflict. To escape such a conflict and yet see America’s enemies completely defeated we must as Ps 60 confirms cry out, “O God, You have cast us off; You have broken us down; You have been displeased; Oh, restore us again”… “Is it not You, O God, who cast us off? And You, O God who did not go out with our armies? Give us help from trouble, for the help of man is useless. Through God we will do valiantly, for it is He who shall tread down our enemies” (Ps 60:1, 10-12).

We see clearly in Hosea where, “Ephraim saw his sickness, and Judah saw his wound” (Hosea 5:13). There was no cure for their disease nor was there any hope for them, “Till they acknowledge their offense (sin), then they will seek My face; In their affliction they will earnestly seek Me” (Hosea 5:15).

This example from Hosea immediately proceeds where the prophet declared, “Come, and let us return to the Lord; For He has torn, but He will heal us; He has stricken, but He will bind us up” (Hosea 6:1). When we first acknowledge and confess our sin, then and only then will we begin to discover the remedy to every threat against us. The remedy is God!

As we look back at the Scriptures we opened with from Isaiah we see a promise where God declares where He Himself, “will contend with him who contends with you, and I will save your children” (Is 49:25b).

The word contend means God will toss, wrestle or strive with, wrangle, hold a controversy with, rebuke and will defend His people. God will do all He said He would do in this chapter so that “All flesh shall know that I, the Lord am your Savior, and your Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob” (Is 49:26).

While it is true that God so loved the world and desires all to come to Him through His Son, Jesus and be saved, He is still God. As much as man wants to be god he never will! The Lord Almighty is the One who will defend the righteous, if they are truly the righteous. He will also eventually come in vengeance against His adversaries.

In Psalm 74 the question is asked, “O God, how long will the adversary reproach? Will the enemy blaspheme Your name forever?” “Why do You withdraw Your hand, even Your right hand?” Then the Psalmist asked God to do something that would change everything. Referring to the right hand of God he asked, “Take it out of Your bosom and destroy them”.

Praying these imprecatory type Psalms all of us would admit is a bit scary. None of us are experts in any of this. But nevertheless these prayers are in His Word for a reason and for times like these. If God had not intended on us praying these prayers He should not have placed them in His Word. Therefore let God arise and His enemies be scattered!

Daniel confirms how when evil and the wicked are advancing, “the people who know their God shall be strong, and carry out great exploits” (Dan 11:32). Those great exploits certainly include but might be more than raising the dead, healing the sick, casting out demons, preaching the gospel to the poor, etc. The exploits Daniel might have been referring to could also be a bunch of unknown simple men and women who are praying the Word of God with passion and fire in the privacy of their own homes. These are not fearful of the times. They are causing all of hell of panic.

Yes these are dangerous times in America, not because of what the Democrats, the media and the progressive left is trying to do, but because of what the saints of the Most High God are doing when no one is around!

Pray on Saints! Our God is about to push back!
